The Daily Office

We can see how the politics and practices of sovereignty have taken over the churches’ life just by looking at its prayers, liturgy and hymns. There, the ‘hierarchical power’ understanding of the divine, and of reality, inherited by the churches from the religions of their earlier iron-age and bronze-age ancestors and still the way most human societies organise their communal life, competes with the self-emptying love demonstrated in historic Christianity’s foundational narratives about Yeshua.

My intention here is to post revisions of the daily office, which I myself am using now, and in which, so far as I can, all traces of a theism imbued with sovereignty are removed.
